Dear Parents, Carers and Friends,
I hope you enjoyed a wonderful half term with your children. They have certainly returned to school looking well rested and happy.
The months of November and December are always lovely and we hope that you will spend as much time as possible in school, sharing every event and activity with us. The class assemblies are proving very successful; it is wonderful to see 4 full rows of parents at the back of the hall. Your children love the fact that you have come in to watch them; thank you for that.

On our return to school after half term we will be selling poppies in aid of the Royal British Legion. If you would like a poppy they will be available from the office every day for a week. The school council will be responsible for selling them to the children.
Thank you to all of you for helping us to improve our attendance. So far this term we have 100 children who are on full time attendance and quite a number who have only dropped one day. We have had a particularly nasty sickness bug going round, so in light of that we have made a positive start.
Please ensure that you do all you can to get the children into school every day. I know we have a long, cold winter ahead but together we can do a lot to keep them fit and healthy.
Half term is a good time to stock up with all the clothing your children will need to see off the winter chills. They always go outside at break and lunch times unless it is torrential rain. We are happy to have Wellington boots kept in school for those "splash in a puddle," days. They will also need a thick, waterproof coat plus hat, scarf and gloves. Please ensure that all items of clothes are named, as it's easy for things to go astray and it saves a huge amount of hunting around.
Lost property is kept outside the Caretakers room and there are about 20 unmarked sweatshirts hanging there as we speak. Also, if you notice that your child comes home with a sweatshirt that is not theirs please return it. We are seeing a lot of brand new sweatshirts, all named, being taken home by the wrong child and not returned.
If you are having problems paying for any items of clothes or indeed school trips please come and see me and I will see what I can do.
Amazingly, it's only 7 weeks until we break up for Christmas so let's make the most of every single one of those days.
I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on the Parents Evenings.
