We welcome parents/guardians into Grass Royal Junior School. There are many opportunities for parents to become involved in school life. Parents' time and expertise can be used in many ways and is greatly valued. Police checks and CRB checks are carried out on all adults who help in school. If you feel you are able to help in any way, please contact your child's class teacher.
We have an active PTFA who has helped raise funds to purchase resources and fund improvements to the school. The PTFA provides invaluable support to the school through organising many successful events throughout the year. They also help the school in many practical ways, such as providing refreshments at school events. We also have a regular team who has chopped fruit for the children every 'Fruity Friday'. Any support parents can offer the committee would be most appreciated. Regular meetings are held in school and if you are interested in attending or becoming a committee member, or just want to know a bit more about the PTFA, please contact the Chairperson.
The PTFA needs the support of parents to ensure it is able to continue to enrich the lives of your children. You can play a part by: becoming a committee member; supporting and attending PTFA events; volunteering your help as a one-off or on a regular basis.
The governing body of a school is made up of people from a variety of backgrounds. Some of the governors are parents. The school governors comprise of a group of individuals who are representative of parents, teachers, non-teaching staff, the Local Education Authority and the local community. School governors work with the Headteacher and are responsible for setting the strategic direction of the school.
